"All the way through his schooling at Stoke Gabriel Primary my son has been nurtured, supported, encouraged and celebrated for his efforts. The consistency of this amazingly high level of teaching hasn't changed or dropped despite the staff changes that are inevitable in the schooling system today. As a parent I couldn't be more grateful to the School and the Academy for the amazing Primary School experience we have been fortunate enough to have had."

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is an allocation of funding provided to schools to support children who may be vulnerable to underachievement. The amount received is dependant on the number of children who are eligible and have claimed for free school meals at any time in the last six years. All schools are required to report on the amount of funding they receive and how this is being used.

Principles

  • We organise teaching and learning within the Totnes Hub of Village Schools in order to meet the needs of all children in the best way.
  • We ensure that appropriate provision is made for children who belong to vulnerable groups and that socially disadvantaged children have their needs adequately assessed and met.
  • We will allocate Pupil Premium funding after a needs analysis to identify priority groups and individuals.
The Directors, Governors, Executive Headteacher and Heads of Schools monitor the impact of this provision using a number of different measures including pupil progress and attainment data, lesson observations and consultation with pupils and parents.
